Effective September 12, 2026
parentfeed.ai is a personal project operated by an individual parent, not by Tessellations School and not by a company. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated on behalf of the school.
parentfeed.ai reads school email in your Gmail account, extracts the things that need your attention — deadlines, sign-ups, payments, events — and shows them as a digest. You sign in with Google and grant read access; nothing happens without that grant.
There is no parentfeed.ai database. Your household profile and your generated digest are written to the hidden app-data folder in your own Google Drive. They live in your Google account, under your control, not on our servers. Message content is held only in memory for the seconds it takes to build a digest, and is not retained afterward.
Your Google access and refresh tokens are kept in an encrypted session cookie in your browser. They are not stored in any server-side database.
Your data is never sold, rented, or shared for advertising, and is not shared with other parents or with the school.
parentfeed.ai’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Specifically, Google user data is used only to provide and improve the digest features visible to you; it is not transferred to others except as required to operate the service, to comply with law, or with your consent; it is not used for advertising; and no human reads your Gmail data except with your explicit permission, for security purposes, or as required by law.
The hosting platform records standard operational logs — timestamps, request paths, error traces, and diagnostic counts such as how many items a build produced and their short topic labels. Logs do not contain message bodies.
School email inevitably contains information about children — names, classes, activities — and sometimes about other families. parentfeed.ai processes this only to build the digest for the account that received the mail. The service is directed at parents, not at children, and is not intended for use by anyone under 13.
Either step is sufficient on its own — revoking access stops all future reads, and deleting the app data removes everything the app has stored. Neither requires asking anyone’s permission.
Access is restricted to accounts in the school’s domain. Traffic is served over HTTPS. Because your data lives in your own Google account rather than a shared database, there is no central store of parents’ mail to breach. No system is perfectly secure, and this is a personal project rather than an audited commercial service — that tradeoff is worth knowing when you decide whether to grant access.
If this policy changes materially, the effective date above will change and, where the change affects how your data is used, you will be asked to review it before continuing.
